How Parkway Pharmacy protects your health information.

HIPAA, the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, sets rules for how pharmacies, doctors, hospitals, and insurance companies handle Protected Health Information (PHI). PHI is information about your health, your treatment, or how your healthcare is paid for, when that information identifies you.

We use your PHI to fill your prescriptions, coordinate with your prescribers, bill your insurance, run quality and safety checks, manage refill reminders, and offer pharmacist consultation. We may also use it for required public-health activities like vaccine reporting.

We share PHI with people directly involved in your care, your prescriber, your insurer, the pharmacy that filled a previous prescription if you're transferring it, and with government and accreditation bodies as the law requires. We don't sell your information. We don't share it with marketers.

This website is not a patient portal. The contact form is not a secure channel. Please do not send prescription numbers, medication names tied to your name, condition information, or insurance ID numbers through the contact form. For prescription matters, please call the pharmacy directly or use the Rx365 app, which is built for secure prescription communication.

You have the right to see your own pharmacy records, request corrections, get an accounting of certain disclosures, ask us to communicate with you in a specific way, and request a restriction on how your PHI is used. Stop by either Parkway location or call us to exercise any of these rights.

If you believe your privacy rights have been violated, you can speak directly with the Parkway pharmacist on duty, file a complaint with us in writing, or file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. We will never retaliate against you for filing a complaint.
